-Chapter 3-
Blogging
I am sitting in the very spot that Echo (Sister Harris) was when she told me she wanted to start a mission blog.  She loved, loved, loved reading about everything and anything regarding her friends who were serving their missions! Looking at pictures, reading articles, sending e-mails, LDS.org, Facebook, blogs and clicking on links to find the most fashionable and affordable clothing that she would be wearing for the next 18 months!!! Oh, the clothes:)....and the dreaded sister shoes:(  She was beyond excited!!!

When she asked me if I would maintain a mission blog for her I will NEVER forget the look of rejection. Her body literally slumped where she sat. She didn't utter a word when I told her it was a waste of time, her's and mine.  I asked her why in the world would she want to start a blog? Why would you want anyone reading about what you are doing?
True to her character, she didn't say a word. There was no way she would argue with her mother.  I can still visualize what happened next, she got up and went in her room. I'm sure that she knelt down and said a prayer that her mother's heart would soften and she probably expressed her love for me while shedding a few tears in silence.
She never said another word about it.
Here we are 8 months into her mission and if I could backtrack and take back all those words that came tumbling out of my mouth I would!!! I wish I could erase the image of her looking so sad! I wish she didn't go in her room!
Instead, I would say, Sweetheart we need to start your mission blog! What can I do to help? Show me how... I'm sure you will touch so many people's lives! Wow!!! What a great way to document your mission for your posterity!!! I can't wait to do it for you!!!
 Sister Harris needs my help!
Sweet daughter, I'm sorry! Please forgive me! I love you!!! It's not too late! Let's get started!
I have asked her to start sending me a weekly e-mail she would like to share. I am very excited to do this for her! Also, her brother Elder Harris is serving in North Carolina. I will also include his correspondence for family and friends. So you will get 2 for 2. Kapish! (I actually just had to Google that word. It means "to understand" it is derived from the Latin word capire.)
See I just learned something:)
Our family may also add our missionary experiences. We want to have courage and be brave! What a better time to be a member missionary!
With love and aloha,
Sister Harris and Elder Harris's Mom
